Greek is the area’s language , however the majority of the locals and especially those connected to tourism will speak English, German, Italian or French.
Weather
The island has warm Mediterranean climate.From November to March you will find that it is the most rainy period. Winters are mild in the South but much cooler in the North but the best time to visit the island is with no doubt the summer months.
Transport
The transport system of the area is very organised and it has as well undoubtedly good road network , and as a result driving won’t be a problem.
When it comes to choosing a taxi for your transfers you must know that rates are reasonable and based on a Km basis.
Therefore there is an extra charge on journeys from and to airports, ports, stations.
If you decide to hire a car you must be aware that a national driving licence is acceptable for EU nationals.
